About This Skill

Lay Every Tile with Precision and Style! This programme provides practical training in the installation of ceramic, porcelain, marble and other floor and wall tiles used in residential and commercial buildings. Students learn proper surface preparation, measurement techniques and industry-standard installation methods. Hands-on practical sessions include floor levelling, tile cutting, adhesive preparation, tile laying, grouting, joint alignment, polishing and repairs. Trainees also learn how to interpret building layouts, estimate materials and maintain high standards of workmanship and safety. By the end of the course, graduates will be capable of delivering attractive, durable and professionally finished tiling projects. The programme prepares participants for employment in the construction industry or self-employment as skilled tiling contractors.
Mandatory Skills Qualification (MSQ): completing this skill alongside your ND/HND earns you a National Skills Qualification (NSQ) certificate, per NBTE requirements for all polytechnic graduates.
