This programme equips students with the practical skills required to construct safe, durable and aesthetically pleasing buildings using modern masonry and bricklaying techniques. Trainees learn construction principles, building materials, site safety, interpretation of simple building drawings and the correct use of masonry tools and equipment in accordance with industry standards. Students participate in extensive hands-on practical sessions involving site setting-out, foundation construction, brick and block laying, mortar preparation, wall construction, concrete mixing, rendering, pointing and basic structural repairs. They also learn material estimation, quality control, scaffolding safety and best practices for achieving accurate alignment, level and structural integrity. Upon completion, participants will be able to undertake residential and commercial masonry projects with confidence and professionalism.
